IR Photography

I bought a cheap filter for IR-Photography today (~20€) and trying some stuff. Sadly I haven't figured out how to set the whitebalance correctly yet, my camera always gives me an error message (too warm light probably). I'm shooting with my Nikon D5100, if anyone has got any tips on how to do it correctly, please comment or send me a message.
Poorly colour-corrected in Photoshop, the sky was pretty grey, so if I pushed the colours even more the whole picture would become white.
